On Tuesday, I joined the Fair Budget Coalition on the steps of the Wilson building to share the reminder that housing, food, and safety are not luxuries—they’re essential.
This week, my Council colleagues and I compiled budget requests for the upcoming committee budget reports. Each committee will hold a mark-up hearing next week. Then, on May 16th and May 30th, the full Council will vote on the final budget.
This past Wednesday, April 12, we celebrated 100 days in office here in the Wilson building! A few members of my team reflected on what we’ve accomplished in these first 100 days.
In early March, letters went out to renters in rent-controlled properties saying that they could see rent hikes as high as 8.9% starting May 1—the highest increase in 40 years.
