Ward 5 Day 2025

A tradition dating back to the days of Ward 5 Councilmember Harry Thomas, Sr., Ward 5 Day was revived by Councilmember Parker in 2023. Check out the details below for everything you need to know about the events for 2025: Ward 5 Day (September 20), Ward 5 Day @ Nats Park (September 16), and Ward 5 Week (September 14-19).

LOOKING BACK: Ward 5 Day 2024

The 2024 Ward 5 Day celebration took place on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Ave NE). In the days leading up to Ward 5 Day, neighbors gathered for pop-up events across the Ward during Ward 5 Week, September 16-20. Note a change from 2023: the 2024 Ward 5 Awards Ceremony was moved to December as part of the Ward 5 Holiday Party.

We had a great time kicking off all the 2024 Ward 5 Day and Ward 5 Week festivities at Nationals Park on Thursday, September 12!

And finally, the big day on September 22, 2024! This Ward 5 Day was even bigger and better than before with DPR as an official sponsor, a lively basketball tournament for youth, WOW WHEELZ for young children, a youth entrepreneur fair, food from Ward 5 restaurants, DJ Eb & Flow getting the line dancing going, and community resource tables.
