Dear Ward 5 neighbors,
Yesterday, I introduced legislation that would authorize the Mayor to exercise eminent domain over the National Engineering Products (NEP) factory at 1950 Capitol Ave NE for use as a climate resilience hub. This would be the first climate resilience hub in Ward 5, and its location in Ivy City would be especially significant as a Ward 5 neighborhood that bears the brunt of environmental injustices and the harmful effects of climate change.
