Today, my colleagues and I took our second vote on the FY25 budget. I am truly proud of what we were able to accomplish in this year’s budget, chief among them being establishing a local Child Tax Credit, replenishing the Early Childhood Educator Pay Equity Fund, historic investments in the LGBTQ+ community, critical housing investments, and transformative Ward 5 investments. If you missed some of the highlights I shared from the Council’s first vote, you can find those here.
This second vote allowed us to secure more housing support, a Safe Passage Priority Area for the Brookland-CUA Metro Station in the 2024-2025 school year, and additional support for small businesses.
