And Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! From September 15 to October 15, we honor the cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans, celebrating the heritage rooted in Latin American countries. There are many ways to celebrate in the District all month long, including the two-day Fiesta DC Festival downtown next weekend.
As Council Recess comes to an end, I’m sharing some of the important legislative activities that will be happening this Fall in today’s newsletter. There are several important hearings coming up where your voice will be critical, and a change to the Council’s testimony submission process that I advocated for at the beginning of the year has made it easier than ever to sign up to testify or submit written testimony.
