Time for Spring Cleaning!

Dear Ward 5 neighbors,

I love being reminded of how green Ward 5 is every spring. Neighbors head back outside for sports practices, farmers markets, garden clubs, and more.

Each year, my team and I also host Healthy Communities Spring Cleaning, a series of community clean-ups to help keep Ward 5 beautiful and green.

This year’s Healthy Communities Spring Cleaning will take place on Saturday, May 30. Like last year, we are holding a one-day event across all of Ward 5. We’re teaming up with ANCs, civic associations, and community and faith organizations to host clean-up sites, and you’re invited to join in. If you’d like to host a site, please complete this form. If you want to participate in a clean-up at a site near you, stay tuned! Next week, we’ll share more details on site locations, times, and descriptions so you can plug in and participate at a clean-up near you.

Springtime also brings lots of community celebrations, including Bloomingdale Community Day on May 16 and Riggs Park Day on May 30 among many others. Connect with my team at these and other events across Ward 5 in the coming weeks as we enjoy warmer weather, sunshine, and community!
